Looks like my ride home from work! I love Westen NY, since moving here back in 1998, you should visist the Lilac Festicvel in Rochester once in your life (that is if you like Lilac’s). http://www.lilacfestival.com/
The first time I went to Rochester was in early February 1995. I was reading The Shining and I felt like I was in the book, with all of the snow. So much so that I left the book in the nightstand at my hotel without finishing it, since I was getting scared.
The next time I went to Rochester was May 2000, just in time for the Lilac Festival. It was beautiful and warm enough that a bunch of us went to hang out at this “beach bar” called Marge’s on the lake. What a contrast!
True, if you can handle the strange weather patterns in WNY it is a great place to live. My cabin fever tends to start around this time of the year. If you are ever back up in Rochester you should try the dinosaur BBQ (you will not leave hungry!) http://www.dinosaurbarbque.com/rochesterIndex.php
Speaking of Stephen King: I live near a large cornfield and when my brother visited the first time he was a little nerves of how dark and quiet it was, that he had a hard time sleeping. He has always feared cornfield since seeing the movie Children of the Corn.
